A busy day sight seeing

We had a fun morning seeing some more areas of Wuhan with Ivan. I hope the slide show comes across ok. I am unable to view it. We went to the park this morning across from our hotel. Hudson enjoyed chasing the birds & watching the old men fly their kites. It was a very windy & cold day here (compared to previous days).

We went to go shopping to get some cd's/dvd's for Hudson in Mandarin, also a couple books. Then we went to Easter Lake & walked around for about an hour & 1/2. This is a very large lake here in town. It is a tourist area & in the park they have rides, boat tours, games. It kind or reminds me of how Coney Island may have been back in the day. There are swim areas as well, but the lake doesn't look so good. I don't think anyone would be jumping in if it were back in the states. Just another reminder to how fortunate we are to live in the USA. The rides are in need of some major up keep. These things make the rides at the fair look brand new. That didn't stop us from trying one of the most jerky, rickety, little, roller coasters I have ever been on. Hudson was a little unsure at first but kept asking to go again after it was over. I guess he liked it. Stephan & I feared we were going to fly off the tracks at any one turn & called it quits after the one ride. The park wasn't busy at all, but we enjoyed ourselves & it felt good to walk for a while.

We then went to the other side of town to a shop which sells turquoise. Hubei Province is one of the only provinces were the gem is found and is well know for it's turquoise. The history of it's use goes back several centuries with inlays of turquoise in the bronze artifacts we viewed at the museum. We thought it would be nice to get Hudson & Ravenna something from his birth place & specific to this area.

We wore our son out & he is currently still napping. We are leaving for Guangzhou tomorrow & are very excited to be one step closer to home. We have to pick up Hudson's passport in the morning on the way to the airport & then we fly out at 12:55. I will try to post again once we get situated at The White Swan Hotel.

Loves & kisses to Ravenna. Thanks again mom & dad for taking care of our little dolly while we are away, & for those others who are helping out with her. We miss that little face!

Goodmorning. Ravenna still sleeping--she is doing just fine. Sleeps all through the night and seems happy. She really likes to watch "mommy-daddy-TV?" Yesterday dad took her out to do yard work for a long time. She had her own red rake and loved being outside. Your slide show is just super, honey, and we love the way you are sharing everything. Hudson looks so cute and like he is bonding with both of you. We can't wait to meet him and love him! On to the White Swan, lots of other parents and children. Love, mom and dad.
