Just a quick update from yesterday afternoon. Stephan & I have been waking up about 5am (which is so not me), so I thought I would write a little post before our day begins & while Hudson is still sleeping.
We thought we were going to go & play football on the grass at the park. If you take a look at the picture below.....we were wrong. It is understandable though, considering the lack of healthy green space around here. Stephan & Hudson did play football in the big gathering area at the center of the park. He doesn't understand the idea of catching the ball yet. He loved when Stephan would throw it high into the air, then he would run & get it. We tried to run some energy out of him. I think it was a success.
We have noticed Hudson really likes to be with Stephan outside of the room. We would have thought otherwise due to the fact that Stephan has also done most of the disciplining thus far. He also likes me, but he seems to stay pretty near Stephan when we are out and about. Hudson is also choosing not to speak with most of the Chinese people when they try to talk to him. Ivan said this is normal. He is mimicking our words more & more. He said his name when he saw his picture yesterday & can say "thank you mama/papa" when prompted. He is very good about letting us know when he has to go potty (thankgoodness). Hudson also does surprisingly well with his right hand or lack there of. He has a little wrist in there which can bend & he maneuvers it very well. He also has teeny little nubs, they are very cute!
We feel we are making strides every day to understanding each other. He is a sweet boy & we love him so!
I will post again after our visit to the orphanage. You will probably all be asleep!
Loves & kisses to Ravenna!

Hi, Amy and Stephan. Mom here. Your blog is wonderful--I feel so connected, and it is wonderful to see Hudson and read all of your experiences. Hudson looks like such a fine little boy, and I am so glad he is adjusting. His life must be very confusing right now. Ravenna had a great time at Nana and Papa's. She had dinner, spent the night with them, and played with Irene most of today. She is doing well and REALLY enjoys watching a listening to the videos you recorded of your family time. She asks to see them about two times a day. They are terrific. She went down like a lamb tonight as she was all tired from her big daqy. I'm taking her to play day at Tricia's Friday. We are doing fine, so don't you worry. I know how much you miss her. All my love--dad's, too.
Hey guys-
I am so excited for all of you. Hard to read the terrific updates without getting emotional. Knowing how this has been such a long journey to your family of four must really be so special to you and Steph. We are thrilled. Mac and Mags say high. Can't wait to catch up. The groms.
BTW, when are you rolling through Seattle. We would came to SEA to say high if it works.
